Center Park now has a (draft) Master Plan!

The Carlisle Historical Commission has asked us to think ahead 5-10 years and come up with a Master Plan that shows all the projects we MIGHT fund for Carlisle Center Park. We seek input to make sure our plan fulfills the needs of our community.

This is the plot plan and 3D perspective renderings in screen shot image form. If you want expand to see more detail, please download the .pdf to the left.

We are actively trying to get the shed and picnic table approved, funded, then installed. First we need approval from the Carlisle Historical Commission, then we need to get the Select Board to approve our project and fundraising plans. After we have raised the money, we will contract with the shed company, saw mill, and local carpenter to buy a shed kit, make the picnic table, then schedule volunteer work parties to prepare the sites and (for the shed) erect the kit into the back logistics corner of Center Park. All this complicated work might start this year, but when will the two big projects be finalized? It could take a few years!

The Friends of Center Park BOD considers the picnic table to be the priority project. We believe that this table is the appropriate size, design and location for Carlisle Center Park. This picnic table will be a welcome asset for visitors of all ages to have meetings, snacks and picnics. It will be used for every free community garden class, community events, and especially during our biggest event of the year, our Halloween Spook Trail. Trash bins and additional benches will likely come in future years.
